This poem is free verse, there is repettition it is the name "jim crow" which in this poem means,the poem has no rhyme scheme. The true meaning of this poem is you make blacks move to the back of the bus and do all these other things. Then the African americans is like what next segragated carnivals or something of that nature.

This poem is a free verse, it is a very extended metaphor that is saying not all people are the same. This peom also has imagery when he says pretty a day i see kids playing on a park during a nice day. This poems true meaning is that even though what day it is or any hour all people are still different in some way. because what he says "lucy will learn and lily will pray" which means at the same time there alos going to be doing different things.
